Calendar Journal

I keep saying this, but this time I think I've found the Calendar Journal system that will for sure work for me.  I found my inspiration on Pinterest.  The calendar is already made.  I just need to change it from a DayMinder into an AnnieMinder.

The cover is a work in progress still.

Not just the outside but the inside too.

I, of course, couldn't wait to get started (especially since I'm spending these couple of months with my daughter) so I got a school year Minder.  The monthly pages are a work in progress as I think up ways to change it from a recognizable DayMinder to an AnnieMinder.

What I liked best about this idea was to just do an anything deco block on days where life is just ordinary.  I manage to mostly play a little bit artsy every day, but documenting it can become monotonous and boring.

If you're doing some reading in the above photo, you might get confused.  I bought the minder but didn't actually work on/in it until the 27th.  From there I worked backward for the month of July.

Aren't the monthly tabys cute?  It's taken me almost 2 months, but I finally figured out how to Anniefy those ugly black tabs.

Just removing the pressure to document something worthwhile every single day has made this project so much more enjoyable.  And I even find myself looking to do something a little more worthwhile than ordinary life.  That, though, is easy with my daughter around.  I worry a little about a lot of blank squares once I return to Cali.  Will cross that bridge when I get to it.

Here's how August is going.

I can definitely see myself sticking with this calendar journal style.  Let's see how that goes for me. LoL

Oh I want to do this now! Recording each day is a great idea in practice but can get tedious to do, so just filling in each square (and a pretty pattern if "nothing" has happened worthy of being recorded (got up, had breakfast, sort of thing)) doesn't look to be too arduous. Did you Annie-fy the tabs with washi tape? I like the first four squares at the top, very pretty.

Well you have inspired me. Not to make a calendar, per say, but to try and look for some extraordinary in each day. All about your point of view and attitude about life, and we all should strive to lead extraordinary lives. Thanks for the continuing inspiration Annie!

Wonderful. You are so creative and inspiring. I need to do something creative; I have been in a creative slump for a while and this might be an on going project to get me out of it.

This sure beats my printed out monthly calendar from outlook. I think I'll give it a go on a much less impressive level. I love what you've done with the monthly tabs and the pretty blanks are a terrific idea.

Having an AnnieMinder that is fun and artsy is a great way to look at each day with happy smiles and joyful heart.

YES!!!!!! You are back to keeping a calendar. I must be honest and tell you, I am much too lazy to get out my magnifying glass to try and read your writing. But I do remember that your printing is an art form by itself. I love your folk art style - very appealing - now do I have your permission to copy some of it? You know Annie what a nice person I am and will be sure and give you loads of credit !When you have a blank space for a day you can always do a doodle!!

AnnieMinder, love it! What a great idea Annie and love the idea of not feeling that you must DO something each and every day, embellishing with paint, pens, washi makes the planner so much more interesting. Loving the Annified tabs too :O) Have fun! Deb xo

I love the transformation from plan book to this very creative AnnieMinder. Such fun to divide into manageable squares. Inspiring. You will need to patent this idea as I think lots of folks will want one.

I have that kind of calendar! How DID you Annie-fy it??? It's SO cute!! Although, I've actually been using my blog as a journal of sorts. (I'd still like to know more about your process, please.)

Wow what a transformation. I love it. So you use it for only journaling and not a planner?
