Sunday Postcard Art

Ravens
this week's design challenge at
A blog of weekly postcard theme challenges

The Raven
The background is printed fabric from a digital collage sheet by Digital Collage Sheets.com, the leaf is from a silk fall arrangement and is floating.  Held in place by the stitching on the branch and the raven.

Ravens and crows and blackbirds all fall into the same bird box to me.  I love them for Halloween and Fall decorating, but the real things can be pretty annoying at times.

The artists participating in these challenges are mostly paper crafters and digital design crafters.  But all mediums are welcome, so I couldn't resists participating this week since I've been playing around with Halloween/Fall birds lately.

Autumn Day was traded to Sandra.  She is known as ladyinblack1964 on Flickr.

Blackbird In Fall is still traveling through our postal system to a surprise recipient.

Happy Fall
Annie

  5. These postcards with the black birds are so unusual and your birds look quite innocent and possibly harmless. I always like your backgrounds too, the checkerboard is a bit different. Thanks for the link to Sunday Postcards, looks intriguing.

  25. I think that your blackbirds are way more friendly looking than the real ones that visit our pasture and woods! These three post cards are wonderful, Annie! Is the second one embellished, or is the fabric multi colored? It almost looks like you used some beads on him!
    They are all three gorgeous!

  27. Wow... your colors and blackbirds are just awesome in these fall-themed fabric postcards! Your Blackbird in Fall especially 'jumps out' with it's colors and the setting...

Can't help but quote Poe...."In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore" (line 38).

They are so lifelike, I think they might jump out and grab a candy corn off of my desk! (Not that I eat while reading my favorite blogs!!)
