Altered Dictionary - M

This fortnight the letter is M for The Craft Barn's Alpha Challenge.  But there's a twist this time.  Our word must be chosen from only words beginning

Ma-Me

You know I had to choose Mail don't you.  I like to search out less common words, but my love for mail art and Good Mail Days wouldn't let me get past the word.

"Private Mailing Card" rubber stamp and colored pencil, "Cancelled Post Mark" rubber stamp, Zip Code postal stamp, Par Avion Letecky stamp, typewriter image and my Dear Friend letter is hand written on tracing paper.

It was challenging though.  This junior dictionary is so full of illustrations and sometimes they get in the way of art.  LOL  I had to camouflage a man wearing chain mail (armor) and hide a large ear of corn (food mainstay).

Have a Good Mail Day!
Annie

  9. Suberb representation of the word "mail". I like the little mailman and the classic letter in the typewriter and of course the typewriter. This dictionary must be laughing to itself now that it is getting such attention again.

  10. Another fantastic page. You have got to have the most amazing collection of stamps ever. I am drooling over the little mail man. He brings back memories of when I used to collect First Day Issues with my dad.

  11. Mail for M is perfect. Have I missed some letters or are we skipping about in the alphabet? Good job on disguising the dictionary pics. Happy Altering...

  22. I love it! This is so inspiring.

Can I just ask what materials you use for the illustrations? Paint, magazine clippings, 3D ATC materials?

  23. Oh my gosh Annie - how I love your idea. What do I like best - it is sooooo hard to choose. I guess it would be the letter coming out of the typewriter followed closely by the Private Mailing Card and the postage stamp and the par avion and the the stamped marks. Wonderfully created and on big smile on my face!!
