Some Fun Mail Days
...you know, the kind without bills...
...you know, the kind without bills...
This postcard was mailed to Annie. She always says "Create Your Life". What a great saying, huh. And a good plan to do so as well.
This postcard went to Sheila. I mused for quite some time over a design for Sheila's postcard. This design came to mind as a reflection of how I visualize Sheila's personality.
Are you familiar with IHAN (I Have A Notion) blog? Kelly posts photos of a neighborhood home that displays several pink flamingos performing entertaining antics. Kelly has formed the Flamingo Flock Fan Club. I have so enjoyed the flamingo's antics that I couldn't resist sending the homeowners a piece of fan mail.
My play time has diminished over the past couple of weeks but that doesn't stop me from getting 10 to 30 minutes here and there and whenever I can. Lately it seems that everything I start reaches a point of what's next?...because I don't usually plan an entire project. I start with the idea and make it up as I go along. So my latest ones are all at the what's next? stage. But I have a couple of homeless postcards that I've been enjoying for a while.
This sweet Little Red Birdie is looking for a new home and so is...
...this Fat Orange Cat.
So it's time to find happy homes for them? Would that by any chance be your home? Tell me!
Annie
All of your postcards are absolutely terrific. I just knew who the flamingos were for even before I read it. Hehehe. I'm sure they will love it. I know the perfect homes for the 2 will be found quickly.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the bird would be very nice for me. You know I adore your cards, and I love the little birds. I'm also waiting for you to confirm that you would like my butterfly miniquilt. Or do you rather like one of my pincushions? You choose!
ReplyDeleteI love strolling through your blog to see your beautiful cards--definitely not disappointed with these! Love them!
ReplyDeleteYou post cards are all wonderful. Love your method of making them....make it up as you go is one of my favorite plans. I always say I am too dumb to know that I can't do something. This method sneaks around that issue.
ReplyDeleteOh that orange fat cat is so darn cute! I love it and the bird is great too.
ReplyDeleteI work like you do Annie, designing as I go along with just a basic plan. I think it's because so many possibilities come along as I create that I can change at any time and not feel I must stick to any plan.
All your postcards are just so darling! I want to make some too, but I am really trying to force myself to finish my larger UFO's first.
Love that you sent a postcard to the flamingo people--what a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteYou are for sure the QUEEN of postcards! One is cuter than the next and whoever is blessed should be grateful for such fun, colorful mail! I know I always am!
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Gosh. You wow me again!!! Love them both. Even though you "shoot from the hip" there is always a purity and sweetness that shows up!
ReplyDeleteI love all your postcards, especially that orange cat! I tried to do a postcard the other day but just don't have your skills. It turned into a rug mat. Your ideas inspire me. You haven't posted in a while and I was concerned about you. I was so glad to see your post today.
ReplyDeleteThat fat orange cat lives at my house!! Red weighs 18 lbs and has some Maine Coon in his background -I would LOVE this postcard.
ReplyDeleteYou are too talented and brighten so many people's lives with your cute creations. Like all your postcards - they are both adorable.
ReplyDeleteHappy to "see" you again, Annie. I just love my singing bird, a beautifully made work of art which flew from CA to Scotland so quickly.
ReplyDeleteI love your cards Annie!
ReplyDeleteThe flamingoes for Kelly is perfect!
I just love your postcards and want to try making a few, once I get all my Christmas sewing out of the way. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAll your postcards are fabulous. What an imagination you have ! Your fat cat makes me think about my two kitties : I have one who is orange but thin, and another who is not orange but fat, your is a funny mix of mines ! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou have outdone yourself as usual. Red bird is cute, especially since I have a Robin at home. I love cats but my three dogs don't. But either one would be great to give as a door prize at our annual quilt guild retreat!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that fat orange cat. All of them, really...sweet, sweet.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hear you re: the "10 or 30 minutes, here or there." Ugh. I'd go crazy if I didn't get at least that 10 minutes of creative time in each day. Just the way our brains were created!
Glad you continue to share your wealth with us all...
Birdie :)
ReplyDeleteI admire all your postcards! WOuld love to have one in my home!
ReplyDeleteLove all of those postcards. That happy cat would find the perfect home here as we just got a happy orange kitten a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteYou are so wonderful to share these most fabulous cards. I love EVERY single one of them...but of course MINE is the BEST! Thank you, thank you.
ReplyDeleteOMG...your postcards are so adorable!!! Love them all but that fat orange cat is just way too cute!!! TFS
ReplyDeleteOh Annie, your postcards are adorable! You never cease to amaze me! I am definitely not a cat person, but that little red beauty would be so welcome in my home...the little chirper and I could sing our Abc's together! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteThese are all wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful. I love cats and have two big ones. I also work for a newspaper so the one with letters on it would be great also.
ReplyDeletePick me ---pick me.
Thanks for a chance at your precious artwork.
Take care,
Debbie
I'm so glad to see your post today...I was beginning to get concerned about you! :) Always love to see your creations, Annie, and I know that there are two someones who will enjoy those posties. They're wonderful! Made me smile this morning...in spite of the dreary weather!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Annie, your talent and imagination is unlimited ! I love all of your tiny masterpieces!
ReplyDeleteI would Love BOTH your Red Birdie AND Your Fat Orange Cat! But then, you'd have to make me a FAT PIG postcard, for behaving so piggishly , wanting more than one of your little treasures!!
So if you find good homes for the birdie and kitty, you can make me a piggy if you get bored! (just kidding, you know. I am so lucky to have my Black- Eyed Susan Joy!!)
Have a good week!
Susie
PS My mother is visiting, and she keeps seeing my own postcard. When I showed her your blog this morning, she remarked that such a delightful sense of humor and happiness comes from each postcard!

I love your postcards. I have lots of birds at my home. I love watching them. I want to try making a postcard myself, one of these days I will do it! Work and etc. keep getting in the way. My big project this week is speaking at a Women's Conference. Seeing your blog post in my inbox, was a welcome diversion in my preparations. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeletelove all of them!! but if I had to pick one i think i would pick the flamingo. thankS!!!
ReplyDeleteMore gorgeous cards! What did you use as the background fabric on the flamingos? It looks like felt in the picture.
ReplyDeleteI used to collect Pink Flamingos during the last 10 yrs of my teaching career. MY office looked like Pink had been splattered all over it with those crazy birds EVERYWHERE...I even had a 12 ft. Flamingo that hung from the ceiling outside my office/classroom. I was a Literacy Coach so her name was FLO-READ-A!!!

The little red birdie is just too adorable! I was inspired by your fabric postcards and have been on the lookout for good background fabrics. Haven't tried making one yet but I will, you can count on that! I look forward to seeing your next creations so keep posting them!
ReplyDeleteI already have one of your lovely postcards, but that fat cat makes me smile. I have a rather skinny orange cat. These are all adorable, I'm glad to hear you are still enjoying making them.
ReplyDeleteWe all love them and want them! Such happy little pieces of art.
ReplyDeleteI love the red bird, it reminds me of a cardinal. We are moving the end of October from PA to FL and we will not be seeing the cardinals again...they are beautiful birds as so are your postcards...BTW, I love the card you sent Carol...so creative.....
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog via Pinterest and I'm totally in love with your postcards, your tutorials, everything. Thank you so much for being so generous and sharing your talents with us.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you're looking for another postcard recipient...I'm in Yonkers, NY....
All I can say is...."YOU GO GIRL!"
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kelly

OMG I just came across your blog from looking at things on pinterest. Until now I had not heard of fabric postcards, they are absolutely gorgeous. I just became a follower. Now I am off to look at the rest of your postcards :-)
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing what you're working on, but I have to say, thanks for sharing the links, too! I am going to have to spend a bit of time looking at a couple of new blogs and someone's photostream over on flickr . . . ;)
