Orange Collage Butterfly

There was a butterfly in my mind wanting to be stitched.  But what color did it want to be?  The Sunday Postcard Art challenge made a delightful decision for me.  Orange.  Yes.  Perfect.

I have made well over 100 fabric postcards.  Yes, most of them have been mailed out.  114 of those can be seen in my Fabric Postcard Flickr Album.

In the beginning the ideas for them came in masses.  Now I struggle for new ideas for stitched postcards.  The recipient of this one has waited quite a long time.  My waiting list is now complete.  Now I'm just waiting on new and more ideas for stitching more postcards.

Happy Mail Day!

  1. So beautiful butterfly. I always adore your cards. You've not done cats, have you? And for February there's always a heart. Cups and fishes are sweet to do also, and ladybirds. So just you go on sewing.

  14. Your work is so pretty. I received your bird with bits back in 2014. I had told you my husband was ill and sadly he passed away last year. I look at that card everyday!

    Thank you,

  22. Annie...I got to you via Sheila’s sidebar and am so happy to be here. Reading about you and your postcards makes me feel better about myself. Back in 1995 and 1996, I went thru a creative period where I made gobs and gobs of postcards. Sadly I did not keep copies of them and many were mailed and gone. I still have may in black albums to look at, but I struggle to bring back that creative streak. Sounds like you have suffered that same ill. Well, you are well on your way with your butterfly. Now postcards are stitched. Mine were all cut paper, stamped (sold all my stamps and not I wish I had them) , watercolors, and odds and end of stuff put onto them. Thank goodness I still have my postcard bach stamp. Love your border. In a way it makes me think of Mary Engelbreit. Anyway...I am so happy I am here and will keep coming back to see what you are up to. I will add you to my sidebar. Happy Weekend.
