Easter Postcard

HAPPY EASTER!

The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art is Easter.
Which reminded me that I needed an Easter card to mail out.

I started with spraying a piece of heavy sketch paper with Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide Spray.  I layered it with a piece of design paper purchased on Etsy.  I cut a scrapbook paper shape with a die.

I mixed some of the Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide Spray into white modeling paste to tint the paste and pressed it through some stencil designs.

(I changed my mind for the die cut paper)... I glued everything down, stamped and embossed the bunny and greeting, inked the edges of the postcard with Peeled Paint Distress Ink with a final darker edge using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

When my postcard was finished, I glued it to a heavier 98lb mix media paper.

A mysterious dark blotch appeared that I tried to fix but did not work well.  The 93 year old eyes of my recipient are not even going to see that.  That’s what I’m telling myself.

Normally our Easter weather is snow or rain or howling wind.  But this year here in Wisconsin in the USA, we are being promised gloriously nice weather for the Easter weekend.  What a wonderful Easter gift.

  2. Happy Easter to you, too Annie. It's a charming postcard and an adorable bunny. Glad to read your sun is shining today. It's actually nice here, too. At least it looks nice. I haven't ventured outside yet. Enjoy your day and I LOVE your calendar. Far better than my puny one.

  7. Happy Easter Annie and that's a wonderful card and I'm sure it was appreciated.
We were forecast snow which is very unusual for Easter, but so far it's holding off, although we have very strong cold winds. Hope your weather holds and you can have a new month filled with fun.

  8. Your diary page for March is very pretty with the washi tape, flowers and the multi-coloured squares. Looks like you had a very good arty and reading month.
This a rather interesting Easter card. Is the shape of the die-cut with the circles a special shape or is it just a fancy way to make circles. I rather like it and the effect it gives in the card and the bunny is certainly pleased to be right in the middle of a circle. These Distress colours have amazing names. Whoever thought of them was a marketing genius. Who wouldn’t want to buy a colour named “Shabby Shutters” or “Peeled Paint”.
