Spring Button-winged Birdie

The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art is SPRING.
Spring is the most wonderful time of the year!

I "drew" (amazement in itself) my birdie based on the great mixed media birds I found on Pinterest created by this blogger: http://www.erinbassett.com/creativite/2012/04/bird_canvas.html. I gave mine a faux button that is just a fabric circle.

This cute little guy will be taking flight to travel to his new home on Monday when I can get into the post office to have his postage stamp hand cancelled.

I couldn't decide whether to make him with fabric or paper.  So I made him in both mediums.

This paper button-winged birdie has a faux button made from glitter paper.

Happy Spring and Happy Easter!

Great spring treats. I find it very interesting that your fabric bird looks like he's made of paper and your paper bird looks like fabric. Happy Easter.

Spring really does make us think of Birfies and both your fabric and paper versions are very Tweet! How fun to design your own birdie when inspired by others. Spring and Easter Blessings Dear...

These (hand-drawn) birds are so proud and pleased because they know they both look terrific with their sweet wings and bow-tied buttons.
They do both look like either paper or fabric and could be either.
You've chosen an interesting background for the second one with all the words and story.
The first one looks as if he is anxious to be off as soon as he gets his postage hand stamped.

Oh! Oh! Oh! See Annie go!
I thought I loved the blue bird until I saw the red bird. Wonderful post cards. You make so many wonderful things Annie it is hard to say what you do best. I still love your calendar pages and now your dictionary pages are taking center stage! One day I am going to California to meet you - just don't fall off into the ocean until I get there!!

It has been years since I made some sewn postcards. Seeing these two make me want to pull out the swinging machine and start anew. I think the red one with the black print in the background has to be my favorite of the two. Happy Easter.

I'm sitting here with postcard envy now........envying the new owners of those delicious birdies! Wow you really are the neatest crafter out there Annie, everything you make is just perfection that can't be bettered! I love that red birdie, he knows he's been created by one hell of an artiste ;)

I love both of your sweet little birds. They make me think how the little juncos in our yard would look if they were all dressed up in their spring best.
