Some Fun Mail Days
...you know, the kind without bills...

This postcard was mailed to Annie.  She always says "Create Your Life".  What a great saying, huh.  And a good plan to do so as well.

This postcard went to Sheila.  I mused for quite some time over a design for Sheila's postcard.  This design came to mind as a reflection of how I visualize Sheila's personality.

Are you familiar with IHAN (I Have A Notion) blog?  Kelly posts photos of a neighborhood home that displays several pink flamingos performing entertaining antics.  Kelly has formed the Flamingo Flock Fan Club.  I have so enjoyed the flamingo's antics that I couldn't resist sending the homeowners a piece of fan mail.

My play time has diminished over the past couple of weeks but that doesn't stop me from getting 10 to 30 minutes here and there and whenever I can.  Lately it seems that everything I start reaches a point of what's next?...because I don't usually plan an entire project.  I start with the idea and make it up as I go along.  So my latest ones are all at the what's next? stage.  But I have a couple of homeless postcards that I've been enjoying for a while.

This sweet Little Red Birdie is looking for a new home and so is...

...this Fat Orange Cat.

So it's time to find happy homes for them?  Would that by any chance be your home?  Tell me!

Annie

  1. All of your postcards are absolutely terrific. I just knew who the flamingos were for even before I read it. Hehehe. I'm sure they will love it. I know the perfect homes for the 2 will be found quickly.

  2. Oh yes, the bird would be very nice for me. You know I adore your cards, and I love the little birds. I'm also waiting for you to confirm that you would like my butterfly miniquilt. Or do you rather like one of my pincushions? You choose!

  4. You post cards are all wonderful. Love your method of making them....make it up as you go is one of my favorite plans. I always say I am too dumb to know that I can't do something. This method sneaks around that issue.

  5. Oh that orange fat cat is so darn cute! I love it and the bird is great too.
I work like you do Annie, designing as I go along with just a basic plan. I think it's because so many possibilities come along as I create that I can change at any time and not feel I must stick to any plan.

All your postcards are just so darling! I want to make some too, but I am really trying to force myself to finish my larger UFO's first.

  9. I love all your postcards, especially that orange cat! I tried to do a postcard the other day but just don't have your skills. It turned into a rug mat. Your ideas inspire me. You haven't posted in a while and I was concerned about you. I was so glad to see your post today.

  16. You have outdone yourself as usual. Red bird is cute, especially since I have a Robin at home. I love cats but my three dogs don't. But either one would be great to give as a door prize at our annual quilt guild retreat!

  17. LOVE that fat orange cat. All of them, really...sweet, sweet.

And I hear you re: the "10 or 30 minutes, here or there." Ugh. I'd go crazy if I didn't get at least that 10 minutes of creative time in each day. Just the way our brains were created!

Glad you continue to share your wealth with us all...

  22. Oh Annie, your postcards are adorable! You never cease to amaze me! I am definitely not a cat person, but that little red beauty would be so welcome in my home...the little chirper and I could sing our Abc's together! Thanks for the chance!

  23. Both are beautiful. I love cats and have two big ones. I also work for a newspaper so the one with letters on it would be great also.

    Pick me ---pick me.

Thanks for a chance at your precious artwork.

    Take care,

    Debbie

  25. Oh my goodness, Annie, your talent and imagination is unlimited ! I love all of your tiny masterpieces!

I would Love BOTH your Red Birdie AND Your Fat Orange Cat! But then, you'd have to make me a FAT PIG postcard, for behaving so piggishly , wanting more than one of your little treasures!!

So if you find good homes for the birdie and kitty, you can make me a piggy if you get bored! (just kidding, you know. I am so lucky to have my Black- Eyed Susan Joy!!)

    Have a good week!

  29. More gorgeous cards! What did you use as the background fabric on the flamingos? It looks like felt in the picture.

  30. I used to collect Pink Flamingos during the last 10 yrs of my teaching career. MY office looked like Pink had been splattered all over it with those crazy birds EVERYWHERE...I even had a 12 ft. Flamingo that hung from the ceiling outside my office/classroom. I was a Literacy Coach so her name was FLO-READ-A!!!
