Is this your water? Is this my drink? How many times does that question arise? Is this yours, is this mine?
I made these candy jar wraps a couple of years ago or so based on a mug wrap from the book "I Believe" by Nancy Halverson.
I re-sized Nancy's pattern instructions to fit the candy jars and again now to fit the water bottles and a 12oz. drink can. I considered posting a tutorial for these wraps, but since it's based on Nancy's pattern, I'm thinking I might be illegal if I did that...don't want to be illegal.
These are going to be little Christmas gifts. I just needed to know the recipients favorite color. After that I was having the time of my life. These are really fun to make...and easy peasy too! Lots of the strips came from my scrap bins.
(work in progress photo)
I found a roll of non-slip shelf liner in the kitchen section of Walmart. I cut and stitched a strip of that on the backs of these. They grip the plastic bottle and the aluminum can so the wraps stay put when they are picked up. It works great!
My recipients are getting "one". But me.....I need one here by my blog, one in the car, one in the other car, one by my sewing machine.....
Mom and I both need a Christmas one...
...and I have visions of Halloween...and there are so many color schemes and fabric collections.....
I do know that they'd be really cute with something appliqued on this strip pieced design too. But I like them just strip pieced...at least for now.
Drink up!
Annie

These are awesome, I need one too :)
What a great idea and isn't it fun selecting the fabrics?
What a fun gift idea. The blue one is calling my name. :o) Actually I like each of these. Great job and thank you very much for sharing your how-to. Blissful Stitching...
How fun! I love them, as I love everything you make. Have a nice sunday!
I do like these, strip piecing is really fun. I like the orange one and the Christmas one best.
How clever are you?!?! Was the shelf liner your idea?
I love how bright and happy each of them are.
They probably keep all that condensation off your hands too and keep your water cooler for a longer time. The non-slip addition is great!
These are very nice. A great idea for all the 'rest of the people' around you who need a gift.
Oh man, you are so darn clever, it makes me sick! Not really, but I just had to throw that in there for effect.......now I want one too! Christmas if you don't mind! OR......red with white dots to match my teapot which I never use, but is out on my stovetop all the time. Wouldn't that be cute?
Oh, I love your bottle/can wraps. What a great idea to use that non-slip fabric. I have some and will try that. Love how you did the strip piecing.
Once again you wow me!!
Fabulous drink cozies! So festive- I love this idea. Great gifts too.
Happy Holidays to you!
Lori
Oh Annie I love them. I like the scrappy look and great way to use up scraps too...my kind of project. Those buttons are so darling they take the place of using an applique.
wow very cute!
Another winner...you just keep on coming up with these clever things. Wonderful fabric choices! Terrific gifts!
wonderful idea, Annie! They would keep the drinks cold longer, too...a big plus here in the southwest desert! Love all the colors.
Terrific idea and they make the bottle/can so much more attractive to look at.
These are great Annie. I love the way you take an idea to a different, new, better level in everything you do.
Annie, that is so cool! Shelf liner! You are an inspiration to me, girl!
This is a really great idea and so fun! I can see these for every holiday out there and wouldn't they be fun as little gifts for party-goers at your house. Or would that be party-comers if the party was at your house?
Annie, this is genius!! I love this idea! Thanks for sharing,I so need to make some.
wonderful idea! I've been trying to think of something creative to give my co-workers - candy jars with a wrap - good idea!
Brilliant idea to include that no slip stuff on a cozy. Hadn't even considered that. (I have it in my studio between bobbin boxes in a drawer to keep them from sliding all over the place.)
For the record my favorite color is "bright".
Oh Annie, these are just too cute! You always use such bright, fresfh fabrics and have such an eye for detail...love these!
Fabulous idea, Annie!
Great Idea and looks wonderful!
