Our new letter for the Alpha Challenge is
W
with the twist to add circles in the background.
I've chosen the word write.
My style for altering my dictionary doesn't have painted or inked backgrounds, so I had to find a way to work a circle into my word illustration.
My style for altering my dictionary doesn't have painted or inked backgrounds, so I had to find a way to work a circle into my word illustration.
I wish I had drawn the circle with a finer pen tip. But once it's drawn, there's no going back.
I discovered I like using tracing paper for the images. I like the transparency of it and it keeps the addition of bulk down to a minimum. On the other hand, for an image with lots of cuts, like the written word "write", it was difficult to keep it under control once it had glue added to the back.

Awesome.
Brilliant, I love your interpretation.
WOW. Your circle is perfect, your word is perfect and it's glued down??? I love the dot is right next to clever (I'm guessing) trick.
I think your page is fabulous.
Visiting from The Craft Barn - I think this is wonderful! :0) mo
Is this your best page yet? - not sure but it is pretty good. I'm at a bit of a loss as to understand the tracing paper as I would have thought the glue would have shown on the back, but obviously not. Your dictionary is so cute "Mary writes to her mother every week", "Please write on both sides of the paper" and your images are just its style.
Very. Very. Nice.
This is the perfect word for you since you write so beautifully! I love this page!
I love how you have incorporated the circle into the page & I don't think it's too thick at all.
A very clear and beautiful page, love your style - and of course I'm always up for something writing-themed :-) Fab page. Suzanne
I think yours is the best out of all of them!! Tissue paper? E-gads! You have the patience of a saint!
Tissue paper? Drawing on tissue paper? Oh my. Fantastic page.
You are just too dog gone good and I love this. I better start thinking of what I want to do. As always Annie - great work!!

Super page and the circle is just right if you ask me. Super illustration of the word "Write"
Yours is the best, imho. Seriously. It is not overdone and is elegant. Love it.
Love your page, great image and the tracing paper works wonderfully! Hugs Frea
Simple and to the pen point. The tissue method is wonderful as it leaves the suggestion of the words beneath showing thru. Challenge met with kudos...
I don't get the glue part. But I DO get that this is a super wonderful page. Did you trace the girl from another source? So wonderful. Very cool quills sticking out of her hat! And the circle looks just fine to me. I think if it were finer, it might not be as balanced.
Love what you did with this letter! You are so creative!
A wonderful choice for "w! You have made another beautiful

Great page. I like using tracing paper too but I'm too messy with the glue, looks like you have mastered it.

Just hopping round all the W entries... Wow, this is really striking! For a moment I thought you had written 'Write' by hand directly in to the book - I was about to ask for lessons in writing and bravery!!
