Altered Dictionary - K

The letter K is our letter to illustrate for the Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn this new fortnight.

I have chosen the word Kit to alter in my dictionary, with a sewing kit.

The dress form, thread spool and tape measure are stamped on tracing paper, cut out and glued to my page.  The yellow measure is washi tape.  The zigzag stitches, buttons, pins and words are rubber stamped.

I know a dress form in a kit is a bit large, but really it's light weight and I can manage it under one arm. :-)

My dictionary is getting pretty fun to look through now!

Stamping on tissue paper sounds really skilful. I'm impressed with your stamped stitching, especially after just recently flirting with stamping and finding it is more difficult than it looks. This is a great page and I know I've said this previously, but maybe this one is the best yet?

Nice one! You sure filled up that page with neat stuff. Good thing you have all that sewing related stamping to go to. I bet there were a bunch of neat Ks you could have done though, you are so talented!

Great idea for this page. I love how you used the tissue paper and the washi tape. I can't imagine how you did the letters. You have a very steady hand. Love this page.

Great word but I might have been tempted by "knickerbocker" when I got to that page....Oh how many wonderful words there are.

A fun choice of word.

I love how the tissue paper made the images look so "clean" and sharp. The stitching stamp looks like you sewed it right on the page. Amazing book!!

I like the idea of your kit, lovely mental picture of you with the model under one arm and your kit slung across your back marching into battle with a couple of yards of material. :-)

Annie Dear you are genius at this altered dictionary challenge. I absolutely love Kit and the sewing theme...including the wonderful dress form. They are so popular once again so this is quite "fitting"! Happy Creative Hearts...

Like the idea of stamping onto tracing paper then cutting out - a really useful technique when you want to stamp onto an uneven surface. Love the zig-zag stamp!

Great page and isn't it great when the word you choose has such special meaning to yourself - alas you probably won't find sewing or sewing kit in my book - I lack the talent.Great job.

LOL, love this page! Kit-all depends on what YOU need, right? On some days my kit would be the entire sewing room...kinda makes the dress form more manageable when ya think of it that way, LOL...
