Altered Dictionary - O

Letter O
is our assignment this fortnight.

I found the word
Osculate
which means kiss.

I printed the most famous osculate and some words onto tracing paper, cut them out and glued them to my page.....as the ostrich looks on.

I must say now, that this is a word I could have done without coming across.  If you think of a few sentences and replace the word kiss with the word osculate, I think you'll find it sounds horribly gross and disgusting.  No wonder we use the definition word in our everyday speaking!

Don't forget to osculate your loved ones goodnight.
see what I mean?  Eeeww!
haha hahaha ha

What a hoot! I love that picture, but do not love that word! Oh, no, now I can't think of Kiss without thinking of Osculate...Ugh! Thanks for my morning chuckle.

Come on osculate me darling! Yes that sounds very weird indeed! I am learning some new words following your dictionary embellishing Annie. So you are educating us as well.

Or as Flo would say - "You can osculate my grits!" Yep - kind of looses something there.

Had to pull out the dictionary as I had never heard of osculate. Who knew? There it was....kiss. But "osculation"? Can't figure out how to use that in a sentence.

We are all getting a little smarter from your dictorary choices! There is a statue of that famous kiss in San Diego (a tribute to the end of the war).

Hi Annie, great page and your word choice is certainly interesting - yet as you say quite unpleasant sounding!

Thanks for your visit - I don't know how the embossing clung only to the letters on my dictionary page - it can't be wet ink as the dictionary is from the 70s! - but I like the effect! MMx

Your laugh at the end is very infectious, made me laugh too. Does this rather straight-laced dictionary like all this frivolity? - the ostrich doesn't think so. It's another rather nice enhancement to the words.

Your tribute to "O" is wonderful. However I agree I don't think the word osculate (definitely too close to ovulate) is a word I will be using in my verbal conversations. You are so clever dear...

Thanks for the new word! Doesn't sound like any of us will be using it any time soon. Did you feel the big osculate I just threw you?
:-)

Oh you really are a card Annie!! The OSCULATE heard around the world. I only wish you could see the smile on my face. I am really working on my O page and hope I can figure out how to do it before the time is up. How are your wonderful post cards coming? Sometime, I need more information about this sport.

OMG...only YOU would pick a winner like, "Osculate"! I can't help but wonder how long it took to find something that funny!
