Hearts Mail Art

I love heart art any time of the year.  But February is the best.  This card has a full boat of mixed media and was inspired by Pinterest (as usual).

It has Color Burst, watercolors, acrylic paint, Washi tapes, stitching, embossing, rubber stamping and stenciling.  Posca Pen and Zig Writer for my fake splatters.

The inside needs to be fun too.  I wasn’t real thrilled with how that sentiment worked with the specialty embossing powder, so I jazzed it up with more Washi Tapes.  Finally I have new uses for Washi Tapes.  They collect so fast.

I made this postcard at the same time with the same techniques and supplies.

A successful experiment for me.

And then there came this postcard.

Again, many of the same techniques with the addition of texture paste and shading with a graphite pencil.

This paper art stuff is hard.  It does not come naturally or easy to me.  Many of these techniques are out of my comfort zone.  I’m trying to be more brave these days.  Some experiments are filling the trash bin.  So when I have a success, I celebrate with a very happy party feeling inside me.

Happy Valentines Day!

I love both of them but the stitching on the first one caught my attention. The contrasting colors on the second one are striking. Both exceptional!

I love them all! You should celebrate--as will those who get one of these in the mail! I can't decide which one I like best. Now that is a delightful dilemma. :)

Oh these are so colourful and happy art. I do like the stitched grid in the first and the Color Burst bursts its colours with enthusiasm. I especially like seeing your art materials and what a great new use for washi tape, I expect some of us (some of me anyway) will be using (copying) that idea.
The second yellow/green card is terrific too with the embossing and all the little bits of torn text, I think it is something different for you?
Great blogpost and looking forward to seeing more of your paper art as I enjoyed these so much.

It's hard to believe you are out of your comfort zone on anything you do. I love your cards and could never pick a favorite, though that yellow one is a beauty!

The cards don't look like you were out of your comfort zone, dear Anne. I think my favorite is the second one but all three turned out gorgeous and cheerful!

Girl, you never give yourself enough credit! These cards are fabulous. I especially like the "tic tac toe" stitching.
