Un-Mailed Envelope Art

I've said it before but it's true.  Sometimes I make something that even surprises me that "I" made that!  When that happens, I have to keep the piece around for a time while it sinks in that yes, "I" made that.

In this case it is a couple of altered art envelopes.

I did eventually decide to mail them but could never decide on a recipient.  I just couldn't choose one artist friend over another.

Both envelopes were created in 2014 and are created with rubber stamps and Distress inks.

I always thought I'd share them after they went traveling to new homes.  I've spent too much time frustrating myself over who I would choose to send them to.  So here I am sharing them finally, but they still live with me.  And I still love seeing them.

I love my vintage men stamps.  They're my secret boyfriends.

Happy Un-Mail Day!

Ooooh, I can understand why you want to keep these fellas at home! I'd frame them with glass on both sides!

Well I can't blame you for keeping them all to yourself Annie.....after all who on earth would just hand a boyfriend over to someone else?! These are WONDERFUL and probably should be framed ;)

I'm surprised you don't want to keep them all. Your work is stunning. Love these envelopes!

I agree with those above. These would look great framed, they are far too good to be "just" envelopes. Your subtleties of stamping and colouring always amaze me, they are nothing like I would imagine stamping to be.
I like your boyfriend in the house shape, but I'm not sure how long he would stay at home, he looks like an adventurer. I love the old-style photographic strip with the lady just in sight and the envelope back with the lady with the knowing look. I think she would be a match for him.
All of the colouring is magical too.

Annie, you are amazing; I am so happy that you share your art on your blog. I love your envelopes and your secret boyfriends. Do you frame your art and have it around where you can enjoy it and be inspired by it.

They are awesome, Annie and I don't blame you for holding on to them. You could send them to yourself from a vacation or so. :)
