Fall Table Mat

From the leftovers of the orange and black Recliner Quilt I made a Fall table mat.  The borders, binding and backing also came from my stash.  Nothing new was purchased to complete this mat.

As I am trying to use what I have and reduce the scraps stash, I pieced together enough scraps of batting for the table mat.

When I need an invention made, my son-in-law is talented enough to make them a reality.  I struggle with these thread spools standing on end while sewing as my machine struggles to pull the thread from the bottom of the spool.  Well, we don’t have that problem anymore!

Wha-la!

And now it is time for some Christmas sewing.

Here in the United States we are celebrating Thanksgiving this week.  We will cook and stuff ourselves on Thursday.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Annie, love that table mat! Don't you just love when you can use just what's in your stash. Your son-in-law is so clever! That spool holder is great! What are those pink holders? I'm sure there would be other that would be interested in one. Does he take orders? 😉

Love your table mat. Isn't it a wonderful feeling to make something so beautiful out of scraps. I do love your color choices. You have a clever son-in-law too. I've been trying to get my son to make a thing to go over my ironing board for years. As usual he ignores me.

The border! Love the way the colors can be matched with the colors in the center!

I love your table mat. Good for you using up the leftovers and even piecing the batting too. Great thread holder too.

I love quilted tablemats This one looks great for autumn and that is a super autumn border. "Using up" the stash and even joining bits of batting - that's just the thing. Funny, however, no matter how much I "use up" the stash it never seem to get any smaller, ever found that?
Hope you are having a terrific Thanksgiving Day.
